Sequential Poetry With Mum Part 2

A Merry Working Christmas & New Year 2020 Too All

Image
It's that time of year again where we indulge ourselves a bit too much. However, we should think of others before ourselves.  I find myself doing both this year. Got a job! I must be one of the few Autism working people. Got gifts for me, but given some homeless guys a treat. I don't give money. It sorts out the people who really need help. When one came over and asked,'Any chance of a coffee and tea for me'n'my mate?'. 'I think can do better than that lads', I said with a grin. We went to a take-out and fisn'n'chips bar. The look on their faces when I said, 'Pick anything you want off the menu guys.' One whom they call 'H' replied, 'You sure mate?'. 'Total sure', I said with a smile. I told them just a few months ago had no job. Unlikely to get a job because of being on the 'autism spectrum'. Eating out of soup kitchens because they have cut welfare/benefits in the UK. However, got employment by a company ...

Interesting take on political history and the death of colonialism. By Alex Taggart Article Forward I have been a volunteer steward and arts mediator for the Biennial Arts festival off and on since 2012.  You are mainly there to help open up, look after the gallery space, and close up. While I there acted as steward for the film shows setup in St George’s Hall, Liverpool UK 2018. Covers the period after ‘World War II’ where many European and western countries lost control of their colonies abroad.  Instead taking the view of a westerner, the film takes the side of countries broken away from European powers. This is a refreshing change on talking about the subject. There are many documentaries on the cold war and empire of the 19 th and 20 th centuries.  A lot of films in English speaking countries are taken...

Creature of Fantasy - Sequential Poetry With Mum Part 3 The forward It's good after all this time to see the poetry I wrote with mum in print.  Many people who past away with talent never get their work to see the light of day. They will leave works of art. The family and friends often don't know what to do with it.  Even worse they don't even look if the person had done anything  creative. This happened with a dear friend. The family was much in a rush to clear his home. There didn't really look. Allot of his creative work was just thrown in the bin.  I was determined not to happen to my mums writing.  It was a long process but went through every piece of paper I could find in her house.  Found long lost old photos taken between the wars. They would have gone forever if in a rush. Frustrated I didn't find a lot of poems we did write. However, I did find one of her notebooks. A photo of the book is above. The book is all in my ...
